An astonishing start to the PSL season this past weekend saw a total of 15 goals scored! Going into a big midweek of action, we certainly hope for much of the same. We preview two of the outstanding matches you can look forward to this week:

Kaizer Chiefs vs Bidvest Wits (Tue 07 Aug): It may be very early days but Bidvest Wits top the PSL log on superior goal difference after their impressive 3-0 win over Free State Stars this past Saturday. The 2016/17 PSL champions were dominant from the start and bossed their Free State opponents into submission with great play. The Clever Boys now face the short trip to the FNB Stadium to take on giants Kaizer Chiefs tomorrow night. The Amakhosi managed their way to a decent 1-1 draw away to defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on the weekend, and will feel confident they can go one better at home and secure their first win of this campaign. With both teams confident they can get the 3 points, the match may well be decided on individual brilliance – something that on paper gives Chiefs the edge. Another pendulum swing for Chiefs may be the home support and we suspect the Amakhosi fans to show up in a big way for their boys. Expect a goal-scoring bonanza at Soccer City! Chippa United vs Orlando Pirates (Wed 08 Aug): An error from Pirates goalie Wayne Sandilands resulted in an early goal for Highlands Park when the two teams met in the opening PSL weekend at Orlando Stadium. Fortunately for the home team, the Buccaneers forced an equaliser from the penalty spot in the 61st minute. Pirates now prepare themselves for a trip to Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium to face a tricky Chippa United team. The men from Port Elizabeth didn’t have it easy in their opening match, going down 2-0 to a zippy Bloemfontein Celtic team. It will not get any easier for Chippa, and they will have to be on top of their game to force a result against a Pirates team desperate for their first 3 points of the season! This clash screams action, and expect a surprise or two from what should be an atmospheric Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. BET LIVE from 19:30 pm!
