It’s time for the eagerly anticipated PGA Championship! With this year’s tournament being the 100th edition, a number of high quality golfers will see this title as the one to win in 2018. Defending champion Justin Thomas will need to be on full form if he is to successfully defend the title he narrowly won last year. Playing host to this year’s tournament is the challenging Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri.

The Course:

  • Opened in 1897, Bellerive is a long golf course measuring nearly 6900 metres
  • Built around a large creek, the course is known for water hazards and vast greens
  • In 2006, the course underwent a $9.5m renovation ahead of the BMW Champs
  • Famous for its tough Hole 8, which includes a double dogleg & creek that lines the right side
  • Hosted the 1965 US Open, won by South African Gary Player

Conditions:

The weather-man predicts a hot weekend that will average 32˚C. There is also thick cloud cover with a 30% chance of isolated thunderstorms on the final day (Sunday). Wind should not be too much of a deterrent, with an average wind speed of 11km/h for the duration of the Champs.

    Australian born Leishman turned pro in 2005 & has 3 PGA Tour victories under his belt. The 2017 BMW Championship winner has an average driving distance of 297.4 metres & is currently ranked 18th in the world.
